The Town Board of the Town of Schaghticoke met in regular session at the Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Melrose, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
Present: Councilmen Akin, Fogarty, Rustin, and Ward. Absent: Supervisor Salisbury. In the Supervisor’s absence, Councilman Rustin presided.
The Board accepted the December 13, 2023 minutes (Fogarty · Akin · all).
Department reports
- Shawn Hayes, Highway Superintendent, gave his highway, water, and sewer report.
- Chris Kelly, Town Historian, reported she is still writing biographies of local World War II veterans and asked Councilman Rustin whether he could find information on the Pleasantdale WWII Memorial. She is also working with Janet Weber, Pittstown Historian, on the Valley Falls bridges.
Business
- Bills from the Town Clerk’s scheduled payment report dated January 10, 2024, totaling $355,756.99, approved (Ward · Fogarty · all).
- The Board opened a public hearing on the aged and disability exemption (Fogarty · Akin · all). There were no public comments, and the hearing was left open until the next meeting on February 14.
