The Town Board of the Town of Schaghticoke met in regular session at the Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Melrose, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 6:30 p.m.
Present: Supervisor Salisbury and Councilmen Akin, Fogarty, Rustin, and Ward.

Department reports
- Shawn Hayes, Highway Superintendent, gave his water and sewer report.
- Chris Kelly, Town Historian, will prepare artifacts from the Bevis Road archeological dig for exhibit; a town resident who works at the New York State Museum offered to build the display case for the Town Hall.
Business
- Bills dated October 11, 2023, totaling $308,145.79, approved (Fogarty · Akin · all).
- Set a public hearing for November 8, 2023 on the 2024 budget (Rustin · Fogarty · all).
- Town Attorney Dave Brennan noted that when more details arrive from Rensselaer County on the aged exemption, the town will adopt the same changes.
Public comment
A Neeson Lane resident asked about the condition of his dirt road. Another resident asked about the finances of the town’s solar projects; Supervisor Salisbury said the town is still negotiating with the solar company, that the town will be paid by megawatts, that the solar company will also pay the taxes, and that the money will go into the general fund.
With no other public comment, the Board adjourned at 7:00 p.m. (Akin · Ward · all).
