Truck or Treat with the Speigletown Fire Department at Town Hall, Sunday, October 25

The fire company’s calendar drive brought the fall schedule to every door this month, and here is the first Halloween item on it. The Speigletown Fire Department’s Truck or Treat is Sunday, October 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Schaghticoke Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive in Melrose. Come in costume and bring your trick-or-treat bag; the trucks will be lined up with candy, and the volunteers who drive them will be handing it out. It is free.

A daytime trunk or treat is the easy one for the youngest kids: no dark, no traffic, and a fire engine to climb around. Town Hall has the big lot, so parking is simple; come up Northline Drive from Route 40 at Melrose. The company also said in its calendar-drive letter that Santa will tour the district on December 6 collecting new toys for Toys for Tots, and the monthly all-you-can-eat breakfasts are back on the second Sunday, $12 for adults and $6 for kids, with children under 5 free; the next is November 8, 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. All of it is on our events page and in the calendar feed.
