Live music among the monuments: an afternoon at Oakwood Cemetery this Saturday
Here’s an unusual and lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon: live music throughout historic Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, a short drive down Route 40 from Speigletown.
- When: Saturday, July 18, 2026, 12:00 to 5:00 PM
- Where: Oakwood Cemetery, 50 101st Street, Troy
- Who: A variety of local solo musicians and bands playing all afternoon, with Deb Zep performing at 1:00 PM
- How it works: Follow the roads around the cemetery, learn about its history as you go, and catch the music along the way
Oakwood is one of the great rural cemeteries of the Northeast, best known as the final resting place of Samuel “Uncle Sam” Wilson, so the setting is as much the attraction as the soundtrack. Details are on Bandsintown.
Making a day of it? The Animal Support Project tag sale runs the same Saturday (10 AM to 3 PM) in Lansingburgh, practically on the way.
