The Town Board of the Town of Schaghticoke met in regular session on December 10, 2025 at the Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Melrose, at 6:30 p.m.

Public hearing — senior-citizen income limits
The board opened a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on a local law to change the income limits for the senior-citizen exemption. Supervisor Salisbury explained that the exemption is a sliding scale, with the percentage determined by a specific income level. Reports from department heads
- Chris Kelly, Town Historian, reported on a meeting for town historians with the Rensselaer County Tourism director about historian programs the county could offer, and the money available from the county to support them.
- Shawn Hayes, Highway, Water and Sewer Superintendent, gave his highway and water/sewer report.
Budget transfers
To make the following transfers (Resolution: Ward · Second: Akin · Ayes: All · Nays: None):
- Increase A1680.4 and decrease fund balance by $3,000 for computer upgrades to Windows.
- Increase A1620.4 and decrease fund balance by $7,000 for the balance on the new sign.
- Increase SW1-8310.4 by $10,000, SW2-8310.4 by $4,000, and SW3-8310.4 by $4,000 — all for the cost of new meters, to be reimbursed by homeowners and businesses.
- Increase DB5110.4 and decrease fund balance by $16,500 for engineering fees for Barton Road.
