The Town Board of the Town of Schaghticoke met in regular session on March 12, 2025 at the Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Melrose, at 6:30 p.m.

Present: Supervisor Salisbury; Councilmen Akin, Fogarty, and Ward. Absent: Councilman Rustin.

Approval of prior minutes

To accept the minutes of the February 12, 2025 meeting. Resolution: Akin · Second: Ward · Ayes: All · Nays: None.

Reports from department heads

Chris Kelly, Town Historian, finished a PowerPoint presentation on the local regiment in the Revolutionary War.

Financial

Bills from the Town Clerk — $411,305.49. To approve the bills from the Town Clerk’s Scheduled Payment Report dated March 12, 2025. Resolution: Fogarty · Second: Ward · Ayes: All · Nays: None.

Budget transfer. To increase A1110.4 (Judge Ryan’s account) and decrease A1990.4 (contingency) by $2,880 for extra clerk time. Resolution: Ward · Second: Akin · Ayes: All · Nays: None.

Town Hall signs. To reduce the technology reserve by $81,120 for two new signs at the Town Hall. Resolution: Fogarty · Second: Ward · Ayes: All · Nays: None.

New building fees

Proclamation

A proclamation was issued in honor of Edith Krupansky’s 106th birthday.

Public comment

  • A resident followed up on the intersection of County Route 114 (Master Street) and Akin Road, reporting that they had attended the monthly County Legislature meeting to discuss the speed and the dangerous intersection. The County will do a speed study on Route 114 (Master Street).
  • A resident asked whether the list of roads to be paved was ready, noting how bad Skyline Drive is.
