Minutes of the Town Board, Town of Schaghticoke — July 13, 2022, at 290 Northline Drive, Melrose, NY. The Board met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. Present were Supervisor Salisbury and Councilmen Akin, Fogarty, Rustin, and Ward.

- Shawn Hayes, Highway Superintendent, gave his highway and water/sewer report.
- Chris Kelly, Town Historian, reported she finished a series on the Drum and Bugle Corps and is now working on World War II history.
Business
- Town Clerk bills from the Scheduled Payment Report dated July 13, 2022 approved, total $432,358.34 (Rustin · Akin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
- Budget transfers (Fogarty · Ward — Ayes: all; Nays: none): increase DA5130.2 (equipment) by $217,519.66; increase DA2680 (insurance recoveries) by $145,420; and increase DA4089 (Federal Aid–ARPA) by $72,099.66 — funding a new truck to replace one totaled in an accident.
New business
- Introduce a new proposed local law for digital signs (Akin · Rustin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
- Set a public hearing for 6:30 p.m. on August 10, 2022 for the sign zoning change (Rustin · Ward — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
Public comment
A resident commented on cars and trucks using excessive speed on a residential road and asked whether the Board could obtain a sign that displays vehicle speeds. Supervisor Salisbury said the town would ask Sheriff Russo about a speed-display sign.
