Regular meeting of the Town Board, Town of Schaghticoke — December 8, 2021, held via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Present were Supervisor Salisbury and Councilmen Akin, Fogarty, Rustin, and Westhead.

  • Minutes of the November 10, 2021 meeting accepted (Westhead · Fogarty — Ayes: Salisbury, Fogarty, Rustin, Westhead; Nays: none; Akin abstaining).

Department head reports

  • Highway Superintendent Shawn Hayes gave his highway and water/sewer report.
  • Supervisor Salisbury reported the Building Department’s 2021 activity to date: 14 new home permits, 8 certificates of occupancy, 20 pools, 9 replacement windows, and several sheds and rehabs.

Business

  • Town Clerk’s bills from the Scheduled Payment Report of December 8, 2021, totaling $150,734.70, approved (Akin · Rustin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
  • Budget transfers (Rustin · Westhead — Ayes: all; Nays: none):
    • Increase A1670.4 and decrease A1990.4 by $200 for increased printing costs.
    • Increase SW2-8320.4 and decrease fund balance by $11,400 for increased water usage in Hemstreet Park.
    • Increase A5010.4 and decrease fund balance by $3,000.

New business

  • Set the 2022 organizational meeting by Zoom for Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. (Fogarty · Akin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
  • Supervisor Salisbury, on behalf of the Town Board, thanked retiring Councilman Jim Westhead and Town Justice Bruce Arnold for 16 years of service each to the Town of Schaghticoke. Councilman Westhead thanked the people he had worked with and the people of the town.
