Regular meeting of the Town Board, Town of Schaghticoke — November 10, 2021, held at the Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Melrose, at 6:30 p.m. Present were Supervisor Salisbury and Councilmen Fogarty, Rustin, and Westhead. Councilman Akin was absent.

State Senator Daphne Jordan presented the Town with a New York State Senate Proclamation recognizing the Town of Schaghticoke for becoming a Purple Heart Community, honoring the nation’s heroes.

Town Historian Chris Kelly spoke about her continued research on the veterans memorial in Melrose, including past newspaper clippings and deeds.

  • Reopen the public hearings on the 2022 Town Budget and the Hoosic Valley Fire contract at 6:47 p.m. (Rustin · Fogarty — Ayes: yes; Nays: none).

  • Accept the Hoosic Valley Fire contract for 2022-2024 (Westhead · Fogarty — Ayes: all; Nays: none).

Public comment

A resident asked about tree branches hanging over Skyline Drive that needed cutting; Highway Superintendent Shawn Hayes was to be notified to add it to the Highway Department’s list.
