Regular meeting of the Town Board, Town of Schaghticoke — May 12, 2021, held via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Present were Supervisor Salisbury and Councilmen Akin, Fogarty, Rustin, and Westhead.

Public hearings

• Zoning change, 850 NY Route 40 (Godfrey), R to RA — hearing opened at 6:32; with no public present on Zoom, it was closed at 6:33 (Rustin · Akin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).

• 2020 MS4 annual report — hearing opened at 6:34. Code enforcement officer Brian Davidson, building inspector Scott Frisino, Highway Superintendent Shawn Hayes, and another Highway Department member were to attend further stormwater training. With no questions or public present, the hearing was closed at 6:35 (Fogarty · Akin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).

• Minutes of the April 14, 2021 meeting accepted (Westhead · Akin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).

Department head reports

• Town Historian Chris Kelly encouraged everyone to read the Express articles about the new owners of the Hoosac Valley Farmers Exchange and described the poor condition of the area around the veterans monument, which had been moved back to its original spot at the corner of Melrose Valley Falls Road and Route 40 at a resident’s request. Councilman Westhead agreed it should not have been moved.
• Highway Superintendent Shawn Hayes gave his water and highway report.

Business

• Town Clerk’s bills from the Scheduled Payment Report of May 12, 2021, totaling $131,015.77, approved (Akin · Fogarty — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
• NY State Retirement (NYSLRS) standard workday resolution approved (Fogarty · Akin — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
• Godfrey zoning change, 850 NY Route 40, from R to RA enacted (Rustin · Westhead — Ayes: all; Nays: none).
